The anisotropic quantum antiferromagnet on the Sierpiński gasket: Ground state and thermodynamics

چکیده
We investigate an antiferromagnetic s=1/2 quantum spin system with anisotropic spin exchange on a fractal lattice, the Sierpiński gasket. We introduce a novel approximative numerical method, the configuration selective diagonalization (CSD) and apply this method to a the Sierpiński gasket with N=42. Using this and other methods we calculate ground state energies, spin gap, spin–spin correlations and specific heat data and conclude that the s=1/2 quantum antiferromagnet on the Sierpiński gasket shows a disordered magnetic ground state with a very short correlation length of ξ ≈ 1 and an, albeit very small, spin gap. This conclusion holds for Heisenberg as well a for XY exchange.

The Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square-kagomé lattice
We discuss the ground state, the low-lying excitations as well as high-field thermodynamics of the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the two-dimensional square-kagomé lattice. This magnetic system belongs to the class of highly frustrated spin systems with an infinite non-trivial degeneracy of the classical ground state as it is also known for the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the kagomé and on the...

We consider RVB state as a variational estimate for the ground state of Heisenberg antiferromagnet in square lattice. We present numerical calculation of energy, spin-spin correlation function and spin excitation spectrum. We show, that the quantum flactuations reduce of magnetization respect to Neel order. Our results are in good agreement with other methods such as spin-wave calculation a...
متن کاملA solvable quantum antiferromagnet model
We introduce a quantum antiferromagnet model, having exactly soluble thermodynamic properties. It is an infinite range antiferromagnetic Ising model put in a transverse field. The free energy gives the ground state energy in the zero temperature limit and it also gives the low temperature behaviour of the specific heat, the exponential variation of which gives the precise gap magnitude in the e...
متن کاملD ec 1 99 2 Spin Tunneling , Berry phases and Doped Antiferromagnets
Interference effects between Berry phase factors in spin tunneling systems have been discussed in recent Letters by Loss, DiVincenzo and Grinstein (LDG) [1] and von Delft and Henley (vDH) [2]. As physical realizations, LDG proposed tunneling of magnetic clusters, and vDH proposed an anisotropic spin hamiltonian and the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the Kagomé lattice. In these examples, for cer...

In this paper, we quantize electromagnetic field in, lossy, dispersive and anisotropic magnetodielectric media by using phenomenological approach. We obtain quantum input– output relations for anisotropic multilayer metamaterials. As an application of our approach, we investigate the dissipative and anisotropic effects of an anisotropic magnetodielectric slab on the quantum properties of incide...
